Canada Day at Thomson Memorial Park

Monday, July 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Enjoy family-friendly activities at Thomson Memorial Park  and share your day with loved ones using #CanadaDayTO.

Kick off your Canada Day with a free pancake breakfast and opening ceremony where you can sing along to the national anthem, then stick around for live music and performances from a variety of entertainers. Participate in many activities, crafts and face painting throughout the park and browse an artisan marketplace.

Fun Activities

  • Pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. (first come, first serve) in the lower parking lot

  • Children’s crafts in shelter A

  • Face painting, buskers & magic shows in shelter B

  • Carnival games in shelter C

  • Bouncy castles & train in area 8

  • Photo booth in area 9

  • Play Mobile in area 10

  • Artisan market with 50 vendors in vendors lane

  • Scarborough Museum from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

11 a.m. National anthem, O Canada, in English, French & Anishnaabemowin (Ojibway) 

11:15 a.m. Kick Music

12:15 p.m. Chinese Lion Dance by Wushu Project 

12:30 p.m. Kick Music  

1:15 p.m. African drumming by Hummingbird Dance  

1:30 p.m. DJ Skin 

2 p.m. Kick Music

Getting Here

Take public transit or Bike Share to and from the event or park your vehicle in the hydro field on the southeast corner of Thomson Memorial Park at Brimley Road and Lawrence Avenue East.

Fireworks

Close out your Canada Day with spectacular fireworks displays from 10 p.m. at Ashbridges Bay, Centennial Park (Etobicoke), Milliken Park and Stan Wadlow Park.

Please note that there will be no fireworks at Nathan Phillips Square, Mel Lastman Square or Fort York National Historic Site.
